Good question! For starters, the annual cost of a full-time senior-level DevOps engineer now exceeds $130,000, plus benefits (and good luck finding one available). Aside from that, you may not always have enough work to keep them busy at all times, so you're stuck paying for time you aren't able to utilize. With the monthly plan, you can pause and resume your subscription as often as you need to ensure you're only paying your DevOps engineer when you have work available for them.
Once subscribed, you're able to add as many requests to your queue as you'd like, and they will be delivered one by one.
On average, most requests are completed in just two days or less. However, more complex requests can take longer.
This will vary but usually it’s one atomic piece of AWS infrastructure, e.g. VPC setup, Cognito user pool, set of ec2 instances, RDS setup etc. You can create tickets as big as you wish if it’s easier for you but delivery will take longer - however we’ll push partial deliveries of these bigger reqeusts every 2 business days.
StunningDevOps offers a ton of flexibility in how you request designs using Trello. Some common ways clients request designs is directly via Trello, sharing Google docs, Miro boards, Lucid charts, draw.io/diagrams.net or even recording a brief Loom video (for those who prefer not to write their briefs out). Basically, if it can be linked to or shared in Trello, it's fair game.
Ideally you share as much information about your project as possible in written form, or images, or loom video, whatever works for you. You explain to us what you need to get done, whether it’s a new architecture, updates to the existing one or just list new infrasructure items to create. Depending on the setup you might to give us access to your dev infrastructure. Also we’ll need access to your Git repo where you have your infrastructure code (Terraform or CDK) if you have it, if not we’ll guide you to create one.
We can start new project for you and design your infrastructure architecture from ground up . We can take over existing project which already uses terraform or CDK. Or we can take over project which doesn’t use Terraform or CDK and turn it into one which does.
We understand you may not have enough AWS work to fill up entire month. Perhaps you only have one or two requests at the moment. That's where pausing your subscription comes in handy. Billing cycles are based on 31 day period. Let's say you sign up and use the service for 21 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. This means that the billing cycle will be paused and you'll have 10 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future.
No worries! We'll continue to revise/change/update it until you're 100% satisfied.
We can do most of the things on AWS but we don’t claim we know everything or have seen it all. However we’ve enough experience to figure things out.
That's fine. You can pause your subscription when finished and return when you have additional AWS needs. There's no need to let the remainder of your subscription go to waste.
Due to the high quality nature of the work, there will be no refunds issued for work already done.
No. We keep meetings to an absolute minimum. It's one big reason we're as efficient as we are. But don't worry, you'll know exactly what we're working on at any given time.
As with the daily stand-up, the answer is also "no". We've streamlined our process and made it completely transparent, so routine communication and check-ins are unnecessary. It's better this way!
Totally fine! We love context and knowing more about what you'd like us to build. Record a short video clip using Loom, or any other tool you like, and link it in the ticket. If something is still unclear, we'll set up a brief chat as needed. We're not completely stubborn.
